Have you ever zigged when you should have zagged? Or better said, gave Lightroom a challenge! I will warn you–don’t change a file name—ever! I know after you’ve imported into Lightroom to change a file name first in Lightroom and then on your computer. But my Zig occurred when I changed file names before importing into Lightroom. The Zag was a disaster.
I’ve managed to salvage some images of zigging and zagging, so here they are. Warning, they are out of the order I was trying to put them in, but I don’t want to tempt fate again! So here are my offerings for Patti’s fun challenge. I actually had fun finding these.

My zig zag problems aside, this was a fun challenge. As you post your ZZ’s please remember to link to Patti’s original post and use the Lens-Artist tag. A big thank you to our July guest hosts: Leanne, Elizabeth and PR. They presented creative and wonderful challenges.
Next week, Ann-Christine will lead our challenge, so be sure to look for her post.

Wow, Anne! I could sit and stare at the opening image for hours and be in a trance. Fantastic collection! Sorry about the LR issues you encountered.

Cool selection, Anne 😀. The golden cubes – super! Ah the life with its zigs and zags, when to do what – frustrating as it may be but there won’t be any stories to tell if we always followed the pattern!

Thanks PR! You are so right, frustration breeds interesting stories–once you get over it!

Anne you found great shots for this challenge, header-lovely. Life without some zigzag to complicate it would be dull, no?

Not being a Lightroom user I don’t quite understand your file name issues but I’m glad you overcame them to find this super selection of zigzags! They don’t seem to have captions so I’ll just say numbers 2 and 6 were particular favourites 🙂

Thanks Sarah! I was just too frustrated to organize and caption them. I just wanted to get the post out before I made another mistake. LR is unforgiving but a great program.

Good response – my favorite is the subtle green and beige landscape.

I feel your pain Anne but you came through with flying colors! Hate any kind of computer problem – so annoying!! Egidio and John’s Excire recommendation has saved my bacon several times since I went with it. Image names are no longer important and I LOVE that LOL. Your post is terrific – your banner image is perfection!!

Thanks Tina! I’ll have to get Excire. My husband put me into Dropbox, but I’ve never gone into it and it’s telling me my box is full. I’d rather work with a program I can learn.

These are fine examples. Lightroom is great but it does have it’s frustrations at times!!

Thanks Nora! LR is a fine program as long as you do it the LR way!

It ended wonderfully even if it was hard to start with. I loved your zigzags, Anne.

One of my least favorite features of the Lightroom catalog is the requirement to change filenames only within the program. No doubt every Lightroom user has slipped up on this. I know I have!

I love these various zigzags, Anne! I’ve experienced changing file names through Lr, painful… Beautiful photos for this one. 🙂

Thanks Amy! Fortunately LR pain goes away. At my age, physical pain doesn’t leave!
