Find LAPC post #155! I’ll be honest, it took a while for me to find this particular post as requested by Beth; but, it was fun. I took you all around the San Francisco Bay Area and into the Gold Country–from ocean to river. This time, as we look back, I found some fountains. So let’s take the plunge!
We have a Roseville shopping center called The Fountains, but there is only one fountain. But, it does put on a spectacular show. Here, I caught the water in slow shutter speed, regular and through a crystal ball.

We jump from a fountain to water features. Look at the captions for a brief explanation of each.

Water also shows up in drops. They can be dropping from a faucet or riding on a pond leaf.

There’s also danger at a zoo pond.

Summers can get hot in the Sacramento Valley. Many cities have fun water parks for the kids. This young man is cooling off in a Roseville water feature.

As I’m writing this, we are expecting water to fall from the sky. Yes, rain and more rain. Even with all the rain we’ve received this year, they say our snow pack is below the “breathe easy” level. We shouldn’t have to be careful with water usage here in Northern California, but I’m not sure about Southern California.
That does it for this week. Be sure to link to Beth’s original post and use the Lens-Artists tag when you respond. Did you enjoy the many history lessons from last weeks challenge given by John? I enjoyed them all. Next week Ann-Christine will be leading the challenge. Be sure to look for her post.
Until then, be safe and resilient!
Anne These were great, Anne. The alligator 🐊 and the last one gave me a big smile 😃 but you had several really clever ones too.

Thanks Ritva! I enjoy photographing kids playing in water. I just try to do it from the back since I don’t carry photo releases with me.

Anne, your images are perfect for the challenge! I can’t believe I didn’t think of fountains! I love the water features and the water drops but the alligator and the boy are my favorites.

Wonderful Anne! Loved your originality on this one – you traveled from fountains to spigots to gators in a pone. Now THAT is variety. My favs this week are your opening set and of course Mr. Gator!

Thanks Tina! I thought of you when I posted the alligator. I don’t mind that I have to go too the zoo to see him.

I was not expecting these types of images and they are great! I love how these challenges can make us think of the norm, but then take us on a discovery of our art work! Beautiful collection!

Great selection! I like fountains because of the sparkling light, but the lurking critter and the little boy are my faves.

Thanks N! I like the innocent play of the boy. Too bad we have to give that up when we become responsible adults.

Ann, the fountains are magical, especially that lens-ball version! My favorite, your final photo, gave me a smile. I remember those carefree days of playing in the California sun before leaving the Sunshine State for college, and so far, never to return except for visits.

Thanks John! I didn’t know you lived in California.

My parents moved there the summer after Kindergarten, and I graduated from Jordan High School in Long Beach. I spent my first college years in southern Minnesota.

This is a delightful post, start to finish and your photography is what I aspire to (one day???). My favourite is the drop of water falling from the tap. I’ve tried that shot a million times (only a very slight exaggeration, promise) and have never made such a great capture. Thank you for sharing these beauties. pp

Thanks Pam! Have you done the 365? That’s where you photograph something every day for a year. Once I did that and it really boosted my photography, (not that I’m a great photographer.) I don’t know why! During that time I had foot surgery and many of the pictures we of my bandaged foot! My dog learned to leave the room when I had the camera out. I still have a lot to learn, but I’ll admit that I’m lazy. I just want to have fun.

Sorry, but I did giggle. The value of having fun cannot be over rated! No, I’d not done it, indeed, ’til just now, I didn’t know about it. I think I ought to give it a whirl! pp
