I’m flying! At least it feels like I have wings–I’m able to sit at a chair for a while. A month ago I fell and hurt my back and have been going from the couch to the bed. Each day I tried more standing up movement. So here I am ready to do a short post on Beth’s wonderful challenge of wings.
Most of my wings are of birds in flight.

Hawk ready for flight.

In flight at the annual Sacramento Chalk it Up.

Crop dusters in rural Yolo County.

Even the Sacramento Zoo had flights in fantasy for a while.

That’s it for my short post today. Next week Ann-Christine will lead us into the Holiday season. I’ve been enjoying all your posts for the last month, especially how all of you expressed mysterious. I’d better not push it. Thank heavens for laptops and a couch that reclines. See you next week. In the meantime stay safe (I need to listen to my own words.) and live in gratitude.
Oh, Anne, I’m sorry to hear you’ve hurt your back. I do hope you recover as quickly as possible. Take care and be careful in your movements (coming from me as a long-term chronic pain and back problem sufferer, so I know how you might feel to some extent).
Love your examples of ‘wings’, especially as I find it hard to photograph flying birds so am appreciative of your skill.
The mythical dragon sculpture is an interesting one. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Vicki! I hope you’re handling your chronic back pain. I’m looking forward to this being over.

After 45 years of back pain due to an undiagnosed and untreated spinal disease, you get used to debilitating days and sometimes awake half the night. The important thing is to do the best you can and what works for you at this time in your life. Rest, rest and more rest when you need it and using treatments or medication that works for you. If I had a dollar for every person that tells me I should do this or that (or take this or that drug), I’d be a millionaire now.

Thanks Vicki! People are so generous with advice, but it is their way of trying to help. I deal with Chronic Fatigue and get the same encouragement. Yes, I try to think of it as encouragement because I think that’s what they are trying to do. My advice: just live life as best you can and know you are loved.

It is good to hear you’re healing. Soon, you’ll be back on your feet. These photos are wonderful. I loved that opening sculpture. The birds in flight got me motivated to try to capture some that way. Wonderful post and narrative. Stay strong.

Thanks Egidio for your encouragement! We recently adopted a 7-month dog who also encourages my movement. She came to us just at the right time.

This post is short, but perfectly formed. The planes don’t interest me so much, but then your last shot cheered me up. Wonderful bird shots, especially the hawk. Good to know you’re getting stronger, albeit frustratingly slowly. Onwards and upwards!

Thanks Margaret! Frustrating is the word. Now that I can move around more is the most dangerous part. I know I just can’t overdo.

So hard for the energetic to move into the slow lane. Has to be done though. Good luck!

Love your birds in flight, Anne, but sorry about your fall. These things take time to heal, so gently, gently…

Anne, I hope you’re back to “full power” soon! I love that dragon shot, and the crop dusters are a regular sight here in North Dakota… mechanized aviation!

Anne, I was so excited to see you are able to post again. I love all the bird wings and the yellow crop dusters but the dragon is my favorite! Take as much time as you need to heal completely!

Thanks Beth! Believe me, I am being careful. I don’t want to drag this out more than the 2 months they said it would take to heal.

I’m with Beth Anne, great to see you posting again. I loved your response – the image of the hawk is incredible – such a great get! Also loved the closing statue, so clever and perfect for the week’s challenge. Hoping you continue to feel better and better!!

I’m so sorry to hear you’ve hurt your back. I’ve had back pain and I know how debilitating it can be (worse than pain anywhere else I reckon). But it’s good to know you’re starting to see an improvement – just don’t get carried away with your new-found wings and overdo things 🤗 Meanwhile your bird photos in particular are wonderful, especially that hawk with the so-beautiful tail!

Hope you are healing quickly. It’s no fun being injured and unable to do all the things that we ask our bodies to do every day! Take care – love your bird shots!

So happy to hear you are up, at least sitting Anne. I hurt my back about 10 years ago and I could only lie down or stand, not good. So happy to see post from you. Great wings all round, but I do love that dragon, amazing. Don’t push yourself too much.

Thanks Leanne! Standing is hard for me. I’m so grateful that we bought this recliner couch. The dragons were so popular with the children. I’m sorry they had to move them on to the next zoo.
