One of my joys in my photographic journey is to visit small towns and stroll their streets. This is when I look for details that I may not find in Sacramento. In fact, I’m seldom in downtown Sacramento. One-way streets drive me crazy. So, I’m happy that Ritva chose this subject for her challenge.
Doors always catch my eye. Here are three that caught my eye while on photo outings.

And where there are doors, there must be windows!

Sacramento used to be known as the City of Trees until it became The Farm to Fork Capital.

Now for some street scenes from my wanderings.

Thank you Ritva for encouraging us to see as our cameras do and to pay attention to details. When you respond to her post, please link to Ritva’s post and use the Lens-Artist tag.
I’m sorry to have missed Ann-Christine’s and Sofia’s challenges, but I did have an enjoyable time cruising the Panama Canal. And it’s great to be back. Next week Tina will be leading the challenge, so stay tuned.
In the meantime, stay safe and live in gratitude!
Terrific response and details Anne. Especially loved the doors and windows, and the tree on the right is amazing!

Great photos, Anne. The details on that door and the ivy growing above the other door are beautiful. It’s good to have you back.

Thanks Egidio! It’s good to be back. A 16-day cruise that included 10-days at sea was a bit much, but the Panama Canal was worth it.

Superb finds, Anne! The creepers on the wall looked like horses to me 😀.
Side note – since you also seem to notice windows, I invite you to share them with Monday Window challenge that runs every week at http://mondaywindow.wordpress.com 😀. Please join in whenever you can.

Thanks Rupali! I’m wondering how they got the ivy to grow across like that. Maybe they anchored it somehow.

Welcome back, Anne! Small towns are more quaint and better to see unusual things. Great details on the doors. I really like the ivy that’s grown into the shape of a giraffe 🙂

Thanks Terri! I thought it looked like a praying mantis, but could be a giraffe’s neck.

Thanks Yanaj! I appreciate that you saw some artistic touches in the post, especially since I don’t think I have an artistic bone in my body!!

I think you are too humble, Anne. 😊 If one considers photography as an art form (which I do ;)) and looks at those wonderful details you chose that are pieces of art in themselves, I find the word artistic most fitting. It also embraces the way of seeing and bringing unique patterns or designs others wouldn’t even notice into the spotlight.

Yanaj, I do appreciate your thoughts in this comment. I’ve always thought I have an ability to see the opportunity and capture it with my camera. But I’ve always thought an artist was one who could create the scene without it being there already. You have broadened my definition of the word. Thank you so much!

A trip on the Panama Canal, how wonderful, Anne. I used to have a book with photos showing it being built. There’s always something momentous about these man-made structures. Welcome back.

Time difference can be seen as I am her so late to comment 😀 I loved all the windows and doors, and the tub on the bench was a good find. The tree was a site that absolute needed to be photographed. Lovely Post Anne

I love your details, but I think my favourite it the ivy or creeper that looks like a creepy thing on the wall above the door in the second photo, great find.
