This morning when I saw the title of Leanne Cole’s blog post I got a sinking feeling. Bren had announced that she had cancer shortly after she did her guest post for the Lens Artist Challenge in February on Bringing Softness. The news wasn’t good.

Through her LAPC challenge, Bren showed us how to achieve softness in any picture using clarity. This was a new technique for me and I enjoyed it. I was her liaison for this challenge, and she was a joy to work with. Here are some of the images I posted for her challenge.

As Leanne said, Bren loved flowers. Leanne posted several on her post as a tribute and asked us to do the same. Here is my tribute to Bren.

I’m encouraging all photographers to follow Leanne’s suggestion and post your favorite floral images in tribute to one of our own, a wonderful and caring photographer Bren Brashley.

  1. A beautiful tribute Anne and so sorry to hear of Bren’s passing. I didn’t know her personally but remember the lovely photo challenge she hosted gor LAPC. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bren’s family and friends at this time and may Bren rest in peace 💞💜💞 xxx

  2. This is sad news. It wasn’t long after I discovered Bren’s blog that she shared her diagnosis. I grew more worried when her posts stopped coming. A beautiful tribute to a friend we never got to meet. 😔

  4. I’m so sorry to hear of Bren’s passing, Anne. I also read Leanne’s lovely tribute post. Bren and I each hopped into each other’s photo challenges, and I had read earlier this year she was battling cancer. Then the posts stopped publishing. A real talent is lost in the world. May Bren rest in peace and the Lord grant peace to her family.

  5. I’m so very sad to see this Anne. I loved Bren’s posts and had noticed she’d stopped but just assumed she’d moved on to other things. Thanks for the lovely tribute. I’ll add a note to my post this week.
