It is indeed a journey. A wonderful one, full of spectacular sights, new friendships and knowledge gained. Digital photography is not an easy hobby to grasp, especially for a senior who is not technically inclined in the first place. But, it is so worthwhile.

When I started this blog in July, 2012, I had just purchased my D3100, Nikon’s entry level camera. I started shooting with it, and I was sold on photography. A year and a half later, I moved up to the D7100, and there was no stopping me.

I attended meetups, joined online groups, met people my age with similar physical limitations, accomplished the 365 challenge in 2015 and even started Tuesdays With Seniors. Every Tuesday a group of us seniors go shooting. At this stage of my journey, I’m pleased with my images, but do very little processing. In 2016 my goal is to learn the rest of Lightroom, Photoshop and Perfect Photo Suite.

I’ve even upgraded Slow Shutter Speed so I didn’t have to remove any more images. So check back frequently and let me know how I’m doing. Maybe I can inspire you to start your own journey!
