It was a cool Saturday morning; a great time for my husband and I to drive to the car show at Denio’s. Denio’s is a large farmer’s market and swap meet in Roseville. Occasionally they host members of car clubs who enjoy showing off their old, rare and souped up autos.
I sort of knew what to expect; you know, having cars parked next to each other. So while my husband talked to the owners, I photographed the cars–mostly close up! It was fun and challenging for me. Here’s what my camera found.

I liked the care the owners gave their cars. They were all polished and clean. Well, except for my first photo. But there was a certain pride of ownership in that truck also. Maybe the next time I visit, it will be painted and shiny too!
Looks like fun Anne. It’s been a few years since I’ve been to a show.

It was fun. The guys put a lot of effort and money into their cars.

While I photographed, my husband talked to the owners about how they souped up the cars. I don’t understand any of that.

I am take photos and have no idea about that stuff they waffle about. What are blokes looking at when they stare at engines for ages? God made mechanics for people like me 😂😂

I do like the old cars, so much more personality in them. These are so colorful, I can see you enjoying yourself

Those cars gave you a bit of fun with your camera. I must say, a car show is one of the last places on earth I’d go to enjoy myself!

Thanks Margaret! I did have fun, but I don’t go to the shows for the cars. I go to have some photography fun. It’s a challenge to photograph them when they are lined up like that, so you have to find unique angles and features. I guess I like the challenge.

That’s a great and positive way of looking at it. I’ll remember that.

Great photos, Anne. I’m like you……I love a good car show! It’s always fun to see how the owners show them off. Senoia’s car show is coming up at the end of this month. They’re expecting 600+ cars. It’s always a good photo op. 😉📷

I’m not especially interested in cars but like you I sometimes enjoy the challenge of photographing the details in particular. You’ve done well here – I usually find it hard to get an angle that isn’t spoiled by the enthusiasts who always hang over the cars in admiration!

Thanks Sarah! We got there as it was opening so there wasn’t a big crowd. When we left, it was getting more difficult to photograph. Although some people did step back when they saw my camera.

Yes they do. It’s an expensive passion.
