I think my problem with shopping is that I go with an intent and usually don’t find what I want or need. I come home frustrated. I’ve learned to go out with nothing in mind and usually come home with something that I needed or not.
So window shopping is even more difficult for me. But a challenge is a challenge and Marlene and I went out to the fountains, a small outdoor shopping center, to walk and photograph.
Here’s what I found. I enjoyed playing with and capturing reflections.
Fashion in windows. I laughed when I realized that I would never wear some of these clothes, especially those boots. That’s what happens when you’re 80!

Now for some odds and ends.
I am a dog mom and love that little Schnoodle. Windows must be washed for us to do window shopping. This last one is a reflection of across the street with the ghost like image of a male mannequin in the store window. You can see him in the window being washed.

Now it’s time to stop spending money! I just liked this palm tree. Saving buttons instead of pennies.

I do love red umbrellas and shadows!

We followed our non-shopping experience with lunch. Thank you Ritva for getting me out. When you respond to Ritva’s post, please remember to link to her challenge and use the Lens-Artist tag.
Last week, I totally enjoyed seeing how you all portrayed sound in your images. Some were very creative. Next week John will be presenting the challenge, so be sure to look for his post! Take care!
Love the palm and the jars filled with buttons! 🙂

Thank you! Online shopping helps us spend our dollars, but saves on gas money.

Anne, what a great collection you put together for the challenge. All are very nice photos, and some are quite intriguing. The problem with clothes and mannequins is that for the clothes to look good you have to stand in those strange postures. How does one go about collecting buttons? I don’t think I’d need a big jar at all. I enjoyed your post and great captures.

Thanks Egidio! When I was sewing, I did keep buttons that were similar to those on my clothes to use as replacements. I don’t think that even then I could fill up a jar!

Thanks Brian! And the fact that I didn’t buy anything made it better!

Pretty outfit there, Anne. I like the palm tree. Wow, that is a lot of buttons in that jar.
I agree, online shopping helps us to spend $$. 🙂 🙂

I bet its nice to get out and window shop! I’ve tried to only window shop but, nope, I always buy something. The Fountains is a nice shopping center and you had a great sunny day to enjoy the non-shopping. Your window reflections look great.

Oh Anne, it happens with me all the time – going to buy something and returning with everything else except what I went to get 🙃.
Nice fashion in the windows 🙂. Beautiful Palm tree – are those strings of small light bulbs on it? Jar of buttons – lovely!

I totally relate to going out and not finding it – I end up buying something when I have no agenda on the list. Glad you wondered out to the mall you shot some great images. Mostly I liked the window cleaner . I liked the boots, but I have given up heels. I love hats so – you know. I like.

I couldn’t wear anything higher than 2″ heels even when I was young! The window cleaner is usually there when I’m there. I guess there’s lot’s of tiny hand prints on the windows.

I used to love shoes. I still do, but nowadays I mainly buy sneakers in white color.

Thanks Tish! I do most of my clothes shopping at Kohls where styles are basic!

Loved that you got out for this one, Anne. It looked like a great day with your camera, a friend, and the search for treasures. Loved the uniqueness you brought us. The images speak to an early spring, and I am with you on the boots. I do have a pair but it is certainly not for a shopping day. I love that you finished at lunch with the red umbrella. A few favorite photos today, but saving buttons was so creative for the challenge, I will pick that. Really loved this! Have a good week.

Ha! Great photos! Agreed on the clothes. Who wears that stuff, and they never fit me like they do a mannequin. Just not meant to be. 🤫

Seems like the outing resulted in some great images Anne. I shop the same as you, I hate shopping so I go out with intent.

Fun approach Anne – good for you for going out to create new images! I LOVE those boots but I’d have cramps for weeks if I tried to wear them! I remember when I work I wore heels every day and if I put flats on on the weekends my feet would cramp up. Now the opposite is true, Sigh

Thanks Tina! I know I couldn’t fit my wide feet into those boots and couldn’t even when I was young.

I really enjoyed seeing your images from a day out and about. I tried that as well, but didn’t come away with nearly the quality or quantity of usable images. Nice work, Anne!

A fun post, Anne. 😊I’ve really been lost in terms of shopping for clothes this past year. So, I know exactly what you mean about not wearing a lot of the items that are on display…like those boots! But I loved the palm tree you found and the necklace and that little sunhat….and the print shirt….Maybe we should shop together!! ’😊😊

I so relate to your shopping experiences, maybe that is one reason I really don’t like doing it. Great that you went out, Anne and had fun. The window reflections are so cool and the buttons in the jars are definitely my favourite.
