I enjoy doing things differently, especially when it comes to my camera and lens. Last week a small carnival occupied some of the Sunrise Mall parking lot in Citrus Heights. Perfect! I had to go and two photo buddies met me there.
When I say small, I mean not too many rides that are great for slow shutter speed photography. That coupled with my injuries from the August auto accident (They tell me it will be a long time recovery for my neck and shoulders.), helped me decide to leave my tripod in the car. You’ll see that in some cases I needed it.
Here are the pictures–handheld.

Some of these may not be perfect, but I had an hour’s worth of fun. Next year the tripod!
If you can achieve all those fantastic shots without a tripod, you may as well junk it and have an easier life!

Nice. I’m thinking I need a new light-weight tripod because I frequently don’t carry mine because it is heavy but should always use it as I am loosing strength in my arms.

I like the Manfrotto BeFree tripod because it’s light and easy to carry. It can hold 7 lbs of weight so it’s not for everyone. It’s great for the type of photography I do.

Nice job……especially without a tripod! Glad you were able to get out and have a little fun despite your neck and shoulder injuries.

Thanks Donna! It was fun and I needed to get out. I can only handle a short time with photography, but it is my therapy.

Yesterday we attended a social with the women’s photographers of California and people were talking about ICM. Lots of interest recently. I like your photos, I know how much patience it requires.

Thanks Alessandra! Most of the time, I don’t have patience. But ICM is fun, and when you’re enjoying something, time flies.

I must agree with Margaret, Anne! Wow – I can see the fun you had in these. I don’t have a ferris wheel close at hand – but when I do!!!
