Wow, we are hot and tired. Our dear cousin Irene went beyond the call of duty to visiting relatives and drove us into Manhattan. So, you say! We were in triple digits today, and it was HOT! We walked to Times Square and to Rockefeller Center. I’ll look at those images tomorrow.
Today you get to see some of the photos I took yesterday during our trip to the Vanderbilt estate and Planetarium. While the Planetarium was typical, the estate was extraordinary. I could take pictures outside, but not inside. However, I cheated and took a few shots without flash.
The docent told us that Cornelius Vanderbilt built his empire from $100 borrowed from his mother. Could that be done today?
Anyway, there are too many images to put in one post, so this will be a two-part view. We will get to Manhattan soon. They say this heat wave will be gone next week, but so will we. Our relatives are thinking that we are bringing the heat!
